Postponing the European Travel Authorization “ETIAS”

The European Commission announced that the implementation of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), which was initially scheduled for 2024 for individuals holding entry visas to Schengen Area countries, has been postponed until mid-2025. This delay is attributed to the incomplete activation of the Entry/Exit System (EES), an automated and security system that records the entry of travelers arriving from outside the European Union when crossing borders on each occasion.
