Main Applicant Requirements

The main applicant must meet the following requirements:

Be a citizen of a country outside the European Union.

Demonstrate a stable and continuous source of passive income from outside Italy.
Demonstrate sufficient financial means to support themselves and their family members without working in Italy.
Hold valid private health insurance in Italy.

Program Restrictions

This visa does not permit:

Family Member Requirements

Eligible family members may be included subject to the following conditions:

Spouse.
Children under 18 years of age.
Children over 18 years of age if they are unmarried and financially dependent on the main applicant, or if they have physical or mental disabilities.
Parents if they are financially dependent on the main applicant.

Financial Requirements

Income requirements vary depending on the number of family members included in the application.

Minimum income for the main applicant:

Approximately EUR 31,000–32,000 per year.

Additional amount for a spouse:

An increase of 20% of the minimum required amount, approximately EUR 6,400 per year.

Additional amount for each child:

An increase of 5% of the minimum required amount, approximately EUR 1,600 per year.

For example, a family of four would need to demonstrate an annual income of approximately EUR 41,600.
