About Croatia: 

  The Republic of Croatia consists of 20 counties and it is part of the European Union with an area of 56,594 km². It is characterized by its mostly mild climate and varied terrain between low mountains and highlands near the Adriatic coast and the flat plains on the Hungarian border. The total population is over 4 million, making it one of the least numerous countries in the European Union, and its capital Zagreb, is the most populous of its cities. Croatian culture is influenced by a mix of Romanian, Byzantine and Balkan culture, where there is a multinational and ethnic mix in most parts of the country, and Croatian is used among them as the official language. The official currency is the Croatian Kuna, and the country has an open economy, with a gross domestic product of about $67 billion USD, and the service and industry sectors play a major role in it. Croatia is characterized by a variety of destinations and attractions, cultural and natural, as it has 10 UNESCO World Heritage sites scattered throughout the country which is visited by more than 19.7 million tourists every year.
