  Burundi is located in Africa on the borders with Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It covers an area of ​​27,834 km2. The country is characterized by its Mediterranean climate and mountainous terrain with abyssal valleys. With a total population of 11.8 million, its capital, Gitega, is the most populous of its cities. The culture of Burundi is dominated by the old traditions of Belgium, which is characterized by a mix of multinationals and cultures, and they exchange French and English as the official language. The official currency is the franc, and the country has an open economy, with a GDP of about $8.3 billion. Burundi is characterized by a variety of destinations and attractions, cultural and natural, scattered across the country which is visited by more than 299,000 tourists every year.
