The Immigration Department of the Government of Saint Lucia has announced an important update regarding the extension of passport validity, effective August 5, 2025, and it includes the following:
- Passport validity will be extended to 10 years instead of 5 years for citizens over the age of 18.
- Passport validity will remain 5 years for citizens under the age of 18.
- No changes will be made to passport issuance fees.
This new policy aims to simplify administrative procedures and save citizens time and money by reducing the frequency of renewals. Also, the current passport holders can use their passports until the expiry date, after which they will automatically receive the new 10-year passport upon renewal.
Obtaining a long-term travel document is a strategic benefit for international investors who have obtained Saint Lucia citizenship through investment.
