Canada grants 471,550 permanent residency visas in 2023

According to the latest official data released by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), 471,550 individuals were granted permanent residency in Canada in 2023, compared to 437,600 individuals in 2022.

These figures reflect Canada’s vision of increasing immigration levels to stimulate economic growth and enhance cultural diversity. The country aims to welcome 485,000 permanent residents in 2024, and 500,000 permanent residents each in 2025 and 2026.

One of the prominent ways to obtain permanent residency in Canada is through investment in the Canada Start-up Visa (SUV) Program, which provides an opportunity to develop businesses there, in addition to the possibility of including family members and qualifying for Canadian citizenship after 3 years (conditions apply).
