ETIAS permits ensure safe and easy travel within the European Union

The European Commission decided to introduce a new system for citizens of non-European Union or Schengen countries. The legal procedures to pass the ETIAS have started in 2016, and the system is expected to be fully operational in November 2023.

The new system is an electronic travel authorization system for visitors from countries that are currently not part of the EU. These visitors have been granted visa-free access to the EU and Schengen member countries through virtue of their good track record on security issues and, thus, have not been deemed as a threat to EU security.

It is a Form that will be submitted electronically by travelers (before traveling) by filling out an electronic form that requires very simple information from the passport, and approval is given within a maximum of four days.

These permits don’t mean applying for a visa, it’s aim is to track and know arrivals to EU countries, and it will be valid for 3 years or until the passport expires (whichever comes first).

The permit cost is 7 euros for the age group between 18-70 years and free of charge for those under the age of 18 and over 70 years old.

Reach Immigration believes that one of the most important advantages of this system is to ensure safe travel in the EU and easy entry for travelers to their European destination, as it consists of collecting and updating the data of people who wish to visit the Schengen countries and the EU Visa free.
