Family Requirements

All dependent children can be included regardless of age under the following conditions:

  • All children under 18 years old.
  • Children 18 and over who are unmarried and enrolled in the Portuguese education system full-time.
  • Parents of the main applicant or spouse above 65 years old who reside with the applicant and are completely dependent.

What are the requirements for renewing the residency in Portugal D7?

To maintain residency in Portugal, the residency card must be renewed before the end of the second year, after which a 3 years residency card is issued. Given that the renewal condition is met, the requirements are residency for at least 16 months during the first two years; the applicant can’t be absent for more than 6 consecutive months or 8 cumulative months each year; and proof of income from capital employment (passive income) must be provided.
