St. Kitts and Nevis Adopts New Biometric System to Enhance Citizenship Program Security

As part of the vision and ongoing commitment of St. Kitts and Nevis to maintaining the global standing of its Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Program, which has a history spanning more than 40 years, and in alignment with the international standards and requirements adopted by the European Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom, the Citizenship Unit has announced the adoption of a biometric data collection system as a new development within the program.

This measure reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening security standards and enhancing due diligence procedures, while ensuring that St. Kitts and Nevis travel documents comply with international aviation and security requirements.

The implementation of the system is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2026, following the conclusion of the first quarter of the current year. According to a statement by H.E. Calvin St. Juste, Executive Chairman of the Citizenship Unit of St. Kitts and Nevis, the system will apply to:

  • Applicants to the Citizenship by Investment Program (mandatory).
  • Individuals who previously obtained citizenship through the program, subject to a transitional period, the details of which will be announced by the government in due course.

At Reach, we view this step as a continued commitment to innovation and the ongoing development of the program’s framework, further strengthening its credibility and reaffirming its global leadership as one of the oldest and most reputable citizenship by investment programs worldwide. This was also highlighted during a previous interview we held with H.E. Calvin St. Juste, Executive Chairman of the Citizenship Unit of St. Kitts and Nevis.
