In March 2025, Portugal announced the launch of a new single service that allows residents and foreigners to obtain three important numbers in just one appointment: the Tax Number (NIF), the Social Security Number (NISS), and the Health System Number (SNS). This service is currently available at 10 government centers and targets those who have or are applying for residency.
