Cyprus Issues 28,660 Golden Visas Since 2014

Cypriot Finance Minister Makis Kerafnos revealed that Cyprus has issued approximately 28,660 Golden Visas since the launch of its Residency by Investment Program in 2014. The largest share of these visas was for Chinese investors, who numbered 10,100.

Among Arab countries, the program’s largest beneficiaries were:

  • Lebanon: 1,822
  • Jordan: 907
  • Egypt: 586
  • Syria: 346

It is worth noting that Cyprus also issued a total of 61,128 work and temporary residence permits between 2014 and 2025. These new residents directly contributed to increased demand for real estate and rental properties, which resulted in higher financial returns for investors and contributed to stimulating economic activity within the country.

Cyprus is on the cusp of a major transformation. It’s on track to join the Schengen Area in 2026 and will officially assume the presidency of the European Parliament that same year. Therefore, now is the perfect time to apply for the Cyprus Permanent Residency Program through real estate investment.
