More than 14.2 million short-stay visas issued by the Schengen States in 2018

Following the Schengen visa report, it was stated that the number of issued short-stay exceeded 14.2 million, apart from the 66,000 visas issued at the external borders of the Schengen zone.

The interesting part about the report is it states that after the receival of 16 million visa application, with almost a quarter being issued by France, only 9% were declined. The short-stay Schengen visa allows its holder to stay up to 90 days within a 180-days period, where visa-holders are only free to travel among the 26 Schengen zone countries.
