Malta announced the official start of the receiving of requests from investors who are interested in obtaining permanent residency in Malta through the new program, the main difference between the old program and the new is that the government bonds investment requirement was removed.
The investor can either buy or rent a property as one of the investment requirements of the program, based on this the value of the required government’s contribution is applicable as per the two options offered under the new program (property purchase or rental). The new program also imposes a mandatory payment of 2,000 Euros as a donation to a non-governmental organization in Malta.
