Cyprus Citizenship by Investment Program Changes Welcomed by Investors; Parents In-Law Can Now Be Added

The changes to the CBIP have been welcomed by investors worldwide who seek EU citizenship. The new law permits the addition of parents-in-law, meaning that now parents of the main applicant and the parents of their spouse can all be added to the same application alongside themselves and their children.

The investment amount for adding parents-in-law mirrors that of adding parents, with an additional investment of Euro 500,000 in real estate required.

The main investment amount of two million Euro in real estate remains constant, while there has been a slight increase of Euro 50,000 in the required philanthropic donation to become Euro 200,000 in addition to the real estate requirement.

The Cypriot government has also created a unit specifically designed for handling naturalization processes, such as those in many Caribbean countries, making the process of obtaining citizenship quicker, easier, and more accurate than before.
