In Antigua and Barbuda you can get a second citizenship through the citizenship by investment programs, the investor can choose between the economic investment option (National Development Fund) this program was made for funding governmental projects with a sum of USD $100,000, the second option is Real Estate Investment which requires the investor to invest in an approved projects by the government as you can have a joint investment for two families the requires to invest with a value of USD $200,000 for each family, or the applicant can invest individually with a value of USD $400,000; the investor can resell his property after 5 years from obtaining the citizenship.

The investor can obtain Antigua and Barbuda passport within 4 months, the holder of the passport can travel free to 150 countries including the United Kingdom. Antigua and Barbuda has signed a waiver agreement with EU in 2009 that allow Antigua and Barbuda Citizens to visit Schengen countries with no visa; Antigua and Barbuda makes it easy for applicant to apply since there are no requirements regarding the interview, managerial experience, and educational background, you can have a dual citizenship, and there is no tax for foreign income.

Before you apply to the passport there are some requirements needed for the overall suitability of the main applicant and his family; the main applicant should be above 18 years old, has a clean criminal record, has an outstanding character and in a good health. The applicant children should be below 18 and children between 18 and 29 should be unmarried and depends on the main applicant, parents, and grandparents who are supported by the main applicant.

After the applicant purchase a new property in Antigua and Barbuda he/she will receive a certificate of registration and then submit it to the passport’s office, the passport will be valid for 5 years and will be considered for renewal.

Antigua and Barbuda has four types of passports the first one is (Adult Passport) this passport is issued to the adult citizens who are aged 60 years old and above, this passport is valid for 10 years; the second one is (Minor Passport) this passport is issued for children who are aged below 16 years, this passport is valid for 5 years; the third passport is  (Official Passport) that is issued for government officials, and finally the (Diplomatic passport) which is issued for an authorized applicants that represent Antigua and Barbuda internationally.
